Family back ground : His father, Varghese is a watchman and mother Suseela is a home nurse, which takes her to far off places, keeping her away from home most of the time. He was not very sure about the profile of his dad's job and when I explained in detail he was not very pleased, or so I thought, going by his facial expressions.
How he reached here: He was admitted in Sisubhavan for better education facilities. The nature of job of his parents keep them away from home most of the time hence they are unable to ensure proper care of the children. He is studying in Class VII.
Rahul appeared a busy bee to me as he was spotted in the leisure room one moment and on the swing at the corner of the garden the other. Literally, I had to be on my toes to catch up with him and to get this sprightly kid seated for a conversation. Finally we sat for a tete e tete near the cage of the chirping love birds at the corner of the corridor. Catching his breath, he told me that he was busy discussing his favorite topic of Cricket with his friends. Mahendra Singh Dhoni is his favorite Indian player and likes his playing style and those big shots that clear the fence. 'I also like Football and Christiano Ronaldo, of the Manchester United Football club is my role model' he flaunted. He likes to collect pictures and posters of his favorite players too.
Do you wish to be a professional sports player when you grow up? I asked seeing his enthusiasm in sports. 'No, I wish to be a lawyer or a policeman when I grow up.' the answer was quick and firm, which gave me a hint that he has indeed set his eyes firmly on these law keeper's jobs. I would like to ensure justice to every deserving soul and punish every law breaker.' He concluded. As I bid him adieu, he followed me to the small patch of green where kids were watering the plants, which were in full bloom. There, he introduced me to Ramesh, the elder brother of Arun whom I had met earlier in the day.
